Earth Day: A More Equitable and Sustainable Future For All
Today, as we celebrate our beautiful planet and reflect on the global importance of environmental conservation, we wanted to highlight our ongoing dedication to sustainability in our design approach.
‘As architects, we are inventors, curators, and custodians of the cities of the future generations. The responsibility therefore lies within our work and our thought process to think beyond legislations and guidelines.’
– Christina Seilern
At SSA, we have a rich history of designing for positive change, striving to exemplify sustainable development at every phase of our projects. From minimizing energy consumption during construction and operation, to promoting biodiversity and fostering socio-economic resilience, our design approach is rooted in a profound respect for nature and a commitment to restoring its balance for a more equitable future.
We firmly advocate for the harmonious integration of nature and the built environment, considering nature an indispensable element of our designs, akin to a foundational building material. Upholding this ethos, we pledge to continue delivering projects aligned with best practices in sustainability, guided by pivotal agreements such as the Paris Agreement, the RIBA 2030 Challenge, and the UK’s ambitious target of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
