Oxford Gardens was designed for a couple of art dealers and their three children. As well as creating a modern family home, the space had to accommodate the couple’s extensive art collection. 

A study at the rear of the ground floor was transformed into a light, open plan kitchen with French windows leading to a decked balcony. New full-height windows flood the ground floor with light, drawing the eye to artworks. A round skylight in the ceiling is echoed in the floor to allow natural light into the basement.

Finishes on the north front façade are kept in their original brick work. The entrance garden and rear garden area remain as originally intended. Handmade Moroccan tiles, inspired by the Victorian house’s original hexagonal texture, are used in the hallway to brighten the space.
